Upcycling Project

This project is my take on the COATS X GRADUATE FASHION FOUNDATION SUSTAINABILITY COMPETITION where the challenge was to create an upcycled garment.

My aim with this project was to address the problem of textile waste. I believe reusing what already exists is the best way to save our planet. I envisioned creating a versatile button-down denim coat dress, creatively crafted from my old denim dress, skirt, and a pair of jeans. The design features detachable flared sleeves, solid shoulders, and an oversized detachable collar as an extra piece.  I aimed to combine the use of craft stitching techniques with crude finishes to add dynamic texture.

 

The visual elements were created using Adobe Photoshop, Procreate, and Canva.
